Lorenzo Ruzza

PhD Student

Lorenzo Ruzza is a PhD student in Mechatronics and Product Innovation Engineering at the Department of Management and Engineering (DTG) of the University of Padova. He graduated in Mechatronics Engineering from the same department with a thesis on a model to simulate the behaviour of a system with phase change materials (PCM) embedded in periodic structures. He is currently conducting research in collaboration with Hexxcell, a London-based company specializing in advanced monitoring, predictive analytics, and prescriptive maintenance for industrial heat transfer systems, combining artificial intelligence with physics-based models to optimize operations and reduce energy consumption. His research aims to investigate the variation in heat exchanger efficiency over time in the presence of fouling and to develop a model for predictive maintenance of such systems.
