Marco Tancon

RTDa, Assistant Professor

Marco Tancon is a Research Associate at the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Padova (Italy), where his work focuses on the fundamental physics of phase-change heat transfer. His research is driven by a practical goal: boosting condensation efficiency through surface wettability engineering. He specializes in the design and development of custom experimental setups aimed at investigating and modeling liquid-solid interactions and two-phase phenomena at a fundamental level. His current work addresses the technical challenge of extending dropwise condensation to low-surface tension refrigerants. In parallel, he works on sustainable thermal systems, including heat pumps and chillers using natural fluids and latent thermal energy storage. At the University of Padova, he also serves as a lecturer in Applied Physics and Heat Transfer.
